The Immortal Game was played in London in 1851 by Adolf Anderssen and Lionel Kieseritzky, as a casual game during a break in the first international tournament. White gives up a bishop, both rooks and the queen, and mates with three minor pieces. Ernst Falkbeer gave it its name in 1855.
Immortals is a numbered series of four posters, one for each of the most famous games in chess history.
